“What I want in my life is compassion; a flow between myself and others based on a mutual giving from the heart”
— Marshall Rosenberg, founder of The Center for Nonviolent Communication
At the heart of Compassionate Communication is the belief that it is our essential human nature to enjoy giving and receiving from the heart. Compassionate Communication, also known as NVC (Nonviolent Communication) is founded on language and communication skills that enable us to remain compassionate even in the most challenging situations. It is Alice and Duncan’s belief and experience that all of us have learnt ways which stop us listening and communicating effectively and compassionately. In this workshop you will be offered a guide in assisting you to express yourself authentically and hear others empathetically.
Instead of reacting, we can learn to respond in a conscious, authentic way, based on what we see, how we feel, and what is important to our hearts.
Over these two days you will discover ways to:
Communicate compassionately with yourself and others
Develop supportive relationships at home, work and in the community
Break patterns of thinking that can lead to anger, depression and arguments
Resolve conflicts peacefully
Be present to your own feelings and needs
